Construction to Begin at the Indian River Medical Center, Thanks to Foundation

Construction will begin in the months ahead for a new Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Indian River Medical Center (IRMC) with funding provided by Indian River Medical Center Foundation. This $15-million project is the third phase of a master facility plan expansion at the medical center funded entirely through philanthropy from the community. READ MORE »


Low Infant Mortality Rate Celebrated by IRMC and Access to Care Committee

The infant mortality rate is one measure of how well a community functions and there is news to celebrate! Indian River County's infant mortality rate for 2009 was 4.7 per 1,000 births, which is well below the state average and represents a steady decline over the past three years. The Access to Care Committee, made up of many community partners including Indian River Medical Center, celebrated this victory on January 19 in IRMC's cafeteria. READ MORE »
